Marketplace | Enhanced App Discoverability Through Developers' Search Keywords

App developers can now improve the discoverability of their apps in the marketplace by adding specific search keywords.


What’s New?

  • Developers can now provide search keywords they want their app to be matched with.

  • Up to 200 characters of search keywords can be added per app.

  • These keywords receive the second-highest priority—after the app name—when users search in the marketplace.

  • Search results are ranked based on relevance (app name, keywords, tagline, company name) and popularity (number of installs).


Why Is This Important?

Approximately 40% of users who visit the marketplace use the search function to find apps. This makes search a critical part of the app discovery journey. Previously, developers had limited influence over this process. With this release, developers now have more control to ensure their apps appear in relevant searches and are more easily found by users.
