We are excited to introduce our latest update for mobile payments: support for Tap to Pay on Square for POS and mobile transactions! You can now utilize Tap to Pay alongside existing options such as Cards on File, Manual Card Entry, and Square Readers to accept in-person payments via the POS on the mobile app. This update is live on v3.98.1 for the platform and LeadConnector.
What’s new
- Square Tap to Pay: Merchants can use Tap to Pay to accept in-person payments from customers. Customers can pay using cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other contactless payment methods.
Prerequisites: An active Square account with an active Square location connected to your preferred account(s).
How to use this feature
1. Connect your Square account by navigating to Payments -> Integrations on the platform’s web interface. Ensure to select an active Square location under Square Live Mode.
2. Log in to the mobile app and access the account that was used for Square connection.
3. Navigate to the POS and initiate a new sale → Add items using the keypad or catalog, link a contact, and apply taxes + discounts.
4. Complete the sale by tapping the Payments Instruments button.
5. Select Square Payments.
6. You will now be able to choose Tap to Pay to finalize the transaction.
